Nature Based Education Overview

Monticello Nature Based Education is part of the Monticello Public Schools located at the Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park. We currently provide classes for Pre-K, kindergarten, 4th  and 5th grade students. Nature Based students are immersed in the outdoors each day. Students learn and play outside using their environment to achieve the same learning standards as their peers do in a brick-and-mortar setting. Nature is our classroom!

Students (3 & 4 years of age) in the nature-based preschool class are in an outdoor immersive setting and will be outside every day unless the weather is dangerous. Nature-based preschool achieves the same outcomes as a traditional Monti Magic Preschool class; only natural materials are the learning tool with the great outdoors for a classroom. Students spend minimal time inside each day but do have a designated indoor classroom should the weather be unsuitable for outdoor learning.
