Welcome to Monticello Nature Based Program!
Monticello Nature-Based Education is part of the Monticello Public Schools located at the Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park. We currently provide classes for Pre-K, kindergarten, 4th and 5th grade students. Nature Based students are immersed in the outdoors each day. Students learn and play outside, using their environment to achieve the same learning standards as their peers do in a brick-and-mortar setting. Nature is our classroom!

April is Stress Awareness Month, a great reminder to take a step back and focus on self-care. Whether you're a student, parent, or educator, stress can build up—especially during a busy time of year. Practicing simple self-care habits can help manage stress and improve overall well-being. Here are a few easy ways to take care of yourself:
🛏️ Get Enough Sleep – Aim for 8-10 hours of quality sleep each night. A well-rested mind is better equipped to handle daily challenges.
🧩 Do Something Fun – Activities like puzzles, reading, or crafting help shift your focus and reduce stress.
🚶 Move Your Body – A walk, bike ride, or yoga session can boost your mood and relieve tension.
🧘 Practice Mindfulness – Take a few deep breaths, try meditation, or simply take a moment to be present and recharge.
🥗 Eat Well & Hydrate – Nourish your body with healthy foods and plenty of water to maintain energy and balance.
💬 Stay Connected – Talk to a friend, family member, or teacher. Sometimes, sharing what’s on your mind makes all the difference.
Taking small steps toward self-care can have a big impact on managing stress and maintaining a healthy mindset. This April, let’s all make time to slow down, recharge, and prioritize wellness!
